Safeguarding

Goddard Park Primary School is committed to the promotion of welfare and safeguarding of all children and expects all staff and visitors to share this commitment.

In order to ensure the safety of all children in our care, we are required to follow the Child Protection Procedures as agreed by the Local Education Authority. We will endeavour to share with parents/guardians any concerns we may have regarding any injuries noted or other specific issues regarding the welfare of their child. We will keep a record of any concerns raised and will share them with the parents/guardians if it is appropriate to do so.

We do have a duty to refer to Social Care if we suspect a child is at risk of significant harm. If we make a referral to Social Care we will inform the parents/guardians concerned; unless to do so would place the child at increased risk of significant harm. Our first concern will always be the welfare of the child.

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead – Carmen Wilson, Deputy Headteacher

Our Deputy Safeguarding Leads are – Jo Harding, Nic George, Zoe Grove- Welsh, Diane Yohans and Milly Dumba

Safeguarding Governor – Keenan Harrison, Chair of Governors

E-SAFETY

All school system are run and maintained in house with appropriate filtering and restrictions in place to limit what students and staff are able to access. E-safety plays a large role in the PSHE and Computing Curriculum which is developed by our Computing Team led by Alison Westlake-Webb.

We would like to let you know about a local service that may be helpful to you and your family.

Mary , a Live Well Navigator, is based at Park Library in the council’s new Community Hub. She is available from 10:00am to 2:00pm, Monday to Friday, and offers a welcoming drop-in service for advice and support.

The service is designed to support adults with a range of matters, including health and wellbeing, as well as queries relating to council services. Mary can also help signpost you to other organisations and services that may be able to provide further support, depending on your individual needs.

There are also other services available at the Community Hub—for example, Citizens Advice run sessions on Wednesdays. While these may vary, Mary’s hours remain consistent, and she can help refer you to the most appropriate support.

If you feel this service could be of benefit, please do consider visiting the Community Hub.
